The vision of 5130 Ministries is for all teens to be in authentic Christian community, journeying together toward fully devoted Christ-centered lives.
You can help make that vision become reality by providing a partial scholarship of $97 for one teen to attend a 5130 Ministries life-changing weekend experience. Donate today via PayPal.
5130 Ministries offers experiential retreats and discipleship groups aimed at helping teens understand and embrace their God-given value, identity, purpose, passion, and power. This is done by guiding them in examining the messages from their past, uncovering the truths of their present, and developing a mission for their future. We provide an environment where teens are equipped and encouraged to be in authentic community, working through their issues and challenges among others doing the same. 5130 Ministries desires to partner with churches to raise up the next generation of servant leaders who will make an eternal difference in this world.
The primary gateway into 5130 Ministries is the initial weekend experience. These retreats are quite different from most Christian youth events. The weekend is carefully structured from beginning to end with processes that guide teens to explore the truth about themselves -- the truth that they were indeed made by God for a purpose and have great God-given power and incredible value.
Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart.
We encourage the participants to talk to their parents about anything and everything that occurred on the weekend except we ask them to keep confidential all things shared by other participants. We also urge the participants to talk to everyone about what they learned about themselves. Our request of the participants is that they simply refrain from talking in great detail about the specific activities to other teens who may eventually go on a Made for More or Project 5130 weekend.
All teens can benefit from a 5130 weekend as long as they are willing to be honest about what's going on in their head and heart. All of us struggle at times with feeling valuable, loved, and respected. All of us also struggle with finding our purpose and getting our hearts and heads journeying on the same path toward that grand purpose. No matter where you are in your journey, examining your life in the specific arenas covered on a 5130 weekend can be extremely helpful.
We believe in the Scripture of the Old and New Testaments (66 books) as being the inspired word of God, completely inerrant in the original writings, and of supreme and final authority in faith and life.
We believe in one God, eternally existent in the three equally divine persons of Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who is the creator of all things, and infinitely perfect in love, power, and knowledge.
We believe that humans are created in the image of God and designed to live in love and holiness, but all people are born separated from God because of our sin and justly deserve God's wrath.
We believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, fully God and fully man. He was sent by God the Father and lived a sinless life. Jesus assumed the judgment due sinners by dying in our place as a perfect, all-sufficient, and atoning sacrifice. He rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will come again according to the Scriptures.
We believe that the salvation of man is wholly a work of God's grace and is not the work in any way of human deeds, goodness, or religious ceremony. God imputes His righteousness to those who repent and put their faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation.
We believe in the indwelling presence and transforming power of the Holy Spirit, who gives to all believers a new life and a new calling to obedient service.
We believe that God's justifying grace must not be separated from His sanctifying power and purpose. God commands us to love Him supremely and others sacrificially, and to live out our faith with care for one another. With God's Word, the Spirit's power, and fervent prayer, we are to combat the spiritual forces of evil and lovingly make disciples among all people.
We believe in the future personal return and victorious reign of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge all people with justice and mercy, giving over the unbeliever to eternal condemnation and conscious separation from God, but receiving the believer to eternal blessedness and joy with Him in the new heaven and new earth.
If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you.
A dream you don't have to fight for isn't a dream, it's a nap. One changes your afternoon. The other changes your world.
All of the board members of 5130 Ministries are parents so we understand that you are entrusting your teen with us. If you have any concerns or comments about a 5130 weekend retreat or 5130 Ministries in general, please e-mail us so we can set up a time to talk.
5130 Ministries wants to partner with you. Please come check out one of our weekends even if you cannot stay the entire time. We feel that you will be amazed at the authenticity and depth that these teens can quickly reach on our weekends. A staff member would enjoy talking with you about how best 5130 Ministries can serve you and enhance your minitstry. Please contact us.
Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another, "What! You too? I thought I was the only one.”
There are many barriers to getting teens to participate in our ministry. The financial barrier is often the biggest. We need scholarships to cover the weekend costs of $195 per participant. Please consider donating a 1/2 scholarship ($97) or a full scholarship.
